For over 50 years Sharon Towers has been a community of compassion and caring...and your gifts help us continue to care for our residents and enhance our community.
For those who wish to help us continue our mission of care, several gift giving options are available.
The Residents’ Assistance Fund (RAF) is the primary fund to which contributions are made. Gifts made in response to the RAF Annual Campaign, Angel Tree, and Tribute gifts are directed to the RAF. Donations to the Fund allow Sharon Towers to provide financial assistance to residents and prospective residents in the way of reduced monthly service fees or waived entrance fees. These recipients, who remain anonymous, are our friends and neighbors who have proudly paid their way their entire lives but now find themselves unable to afford the increased costs of care during retirement.
Since opening our doors, $13,649,292 million in monthly service fee assistance and $6,989,163 million in entrance fees have been provided. Gifts made to the Residents’ Assistance Fund make a difference in the lives and sense of security for each recipient. In 2020, thanks to the generosity of our loyal donors, Sharon Towers provided $585,579 in monthly services fees and $384,000 in waived entry fees to individuals. Beyond financial support, the Fund provides residents with peace of mind and a sense of security.
Gifts to the Residents' Assistance Fund can be made online, with cash, through Donor Advised Funds or Family Foundations, IRA distributions, and gifts of stock.
A memorial gift is a meaningful way to commemorate someone special, to honor the memory of a beloved family member or friend, or show support for the bereaved. Memorial gifts may be made online or by using one of the special envelopes available at the reception areas at Sharon Towers.
A gift made in tribute honors someone who has really made a difference...a spacial person you celebrate and want to recognize. Tribute gifts can be given for important occasions like birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, or for life accomplishments. Tribute gifts may be made online or by using one of the special envelopes available at the reception areas at Sharon Towers.
Planned giving is a opportunity for you to create a legacy with a deferred gift to Sharon Towers through a will/bequest, retirement plan, life insurance plan, charitable remainder trust, charitable lead trust, or other planned giving vehicle. Legacy gifts help ensure that Sharon Towers is able to support its mission and have much needed resources for the Residents’ Assistance Fund. Through a planned gift, you can help make certain our residents, your friends and neighbors, are safe and secure in their Sharon Towers home should they outlive their financial resources.
Individuals who notify us that they have included Sharon Towers in their estate plans are honored through membership in the Stroupe Legacy Circle. The Legacy Circle was established in 2004 and is named for Conger and Dorothea Stroupe, donors of the largest planned gift – a $1.8 million bequest – in Sharon Towers’ history. A former administrator and resident, Conger died on May 9, 1995 and left his residuary estate to Sharon Towers for the purpose of establishing an endowment to be used to assist residents no longer able to pay the full cost of their care.
